Japanese Government Encourages Laughter

Knock, knock. Who’s there? The Yamagata prefecture in Japan here to encourage you to laugh! πŸ˜‚ Who said the government is always too serious? The Yamagata prefecture in Japan recently passed an ordinance to encourage residents to laugh daily. The goal is to “try to promote physical and psychological health through laughter, such as by laughing at least once a day.” They also designated August 8th as a day of laughter.

This funny ruling is the result of a study by Yamagata University’s Faculty of Medicine which found that the lack of laughter is associated with poorer health. It’s no wonder then that the ordinance also encourages businesses to make less stressful environments filled with laughter.

Make it a hilarious day as those jokes make just extend your life 😝

And that’s what’s good,

Jon
