Good Deeds

Good World News Deeds

Good deeds make people smile, they make you feel good, and are incredibly contagious!  Try doing a good deed today.  We want all of you to let us know what you did and we will add it to the list!

1.  Helped elderly with the trash - I saw an elderly lady at an apartment complex struggling to drag a small trash bag to the waste disposal bin.  I stopped my car, ran over to her and offered to dispose of the trash for her.  She had the biggest smile on her face!   (Jon - Good World News)

2.  Helped elderly lady with loading her car - I was walking towards the outdoor section of Lowes when I saw an elderly lady standing next to her car with the trunk open and 3 huge bags of soil in her cart.  These bags of soil must have weighed more than her!  She was politely waiting for someone to help her, but the lines were all really long.  I walked up to her and asked if she would like some help. She said yes.  As I helped her, she kept repeating "Thank you, thank you, thank you so much, thank you!"  (Jon - Good World News)

3. People in need are not forgotten - Yesterday, I walked past a man holding up a sign for money to the cars stopped at the red light. I didn't have much to give, but I gave him a dollar and a fresh rain lilly I had just picked.  He smelled it and smiled.  He thanked and blessed me as I left.  The dollar wouldn't go far, but it is was nice to make him smile so he would know he is not forgotten. (Shay)

4.  Full tank of gas - A while back, I was at the pump fueling up when a gentleman asked if i could spare  a few bucks since he'd  just run out of gas. I said no problem,  and  asked the attendant  to put 20$ on his pump. It was so nice to see the look on his face in the rearview when he realized I'd  put more than a couple bucks in. Even nicer was being able to pay it forward after having come out of tough times myself (had been unemployed ).
To the mystery man,  whoever you are, I hope things  are going well for you!  :-) (Jessica)

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Why is the globe upside down?

Who said it's really upside down? :).  We encourage everyone to look at things from a different perspective.  We definitely take a different approach to the news!  What do you notice when the globe is orientated differently?  Many people are amazed at the size of Africa when you look at the globe the other way.  Australia has an impressive size as well.

About Good World News

We're so happy that you made it to Good World News!  We hope that reading these stories makes you smile as much as they do to us :)

This all began when two brothers Jon and Jeremy, agreed that they wanted to make a positive impact on the world.

We saw a growing trend of negative media - news stories that highlighted the bad, the shocking, and the dramatic stories in the world.  While there is a need to inform individuals about the world events, many news outlets focus so much on the negative.  We knew that there needed to be balance and we were going to make it happen!

So in 2012, we launched Good World News.  We started searching the Internet for good news.  At first we were not sure how much we would be able to find.  It turns out we were able to find hundreds of good things that were happening in the world.  We continue to actively find good news around the world and deliver it to you!  We also really appreciate when our readers submit good news articles and give us comments.  It keeps us going!

Thank you for reading our story.

Share our website with your friends and family because smiles are contagious :)
