Phoenix Police Sgt. Natalie Simonick was on duty one evening when she saw a young man walking late at night. She assumed he was violating curfew so she decided to investigate.
“I pulled over and I asked him what he was doing,” Simonick stated. “He said, ‘Walking home, I missed the bus.'”
Christian Felix, 18, was walking several miles back home form his job. Sgt Simonick discovered that Christian never learned how to ride a bike. She was so impressed by the young man’s work ethic that she decided to give him their spare family bike.
“It’s really something when someone comes up on the street and offers to do a kindness for you,” Felix said. “These days you don’t see anything like that.”
On top of that, several other police officers taught Christian how to ride the bike!
“If everybody could help just one person in the world like this, I think it would definitely be a better place to live.”, Sgt Simonick said.
And that’s what’s good,
