A+ A A-

For the second year in a row, Yang Yuanqing, computer maker Lenovo's CEO distributed his $3 million bonus to 10,000 junior level employees.  These employees are located in 20 different countries, but mostly (85%) in China.  The payout is about $325 which is a typical month's pay for a worker in China!

“He believes that he has the responsibility as an owner of the company, and the opportunity as our leader, to ensure all of our employees understand the impact they have on building Lenovo.”, said Gina Qiao, senior vice president of human resources at Lenovo.

This makes many people wonder... is Lenovo accepting applications for employment? :)

And that's what's good,

Many people dream of traveling the world and Graham Hughes has made those dreams come true.  By world, we mean the whole world - Graham visited all 201 countries in the world within 4 years!  To make things even more incredible, he did his entire adventure without a single flight!

Guinness World Records has him down as visiting the most countries within a single year without flying.  At the end of his journey, he received the world record for the only individual to visit every single country without flying.

A few items helped him along the way.  First, he's from the UK, and his British passport allowed him access to all countries.  He set a budget for $100 a week.  He used CouchSurfing.org which allowed him to spend the night for free.  Graham always traveled very light.

'I think I also wanted to show that the world is not some big, scary place, but in fact is full of people who want to help you even if you are a stranger.', Graham says.

And that's what's good,

Jon

The Thai Elephant Orchestra is, remarkably, just what it sounds like – the biggest band in the world!. The players, all former work elephants with nowhere to go, have been trained to play enormous percussion instruments, holding mallets in their trunks and sometimes trumpeting along.  Elephants seem to like to listen to music -- if you play music they'll come over, so assembling them into a band seemed a natural thing to do.  They’ve produced three albums which have received rave reviews.  The newest Asian music group!!!
